ELDER THOMAS FRANKLIN AND EVANGELIST ALICE FRANKLIN
“The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom, which is what is exemplified in the life of a Godly woman. Great women whose stories were told in the scriptures feared God, and that was evidenced in their decisions in life”. -Oluwasegun P. Gbolagun
Evangelist Alice Franklin was born in Bassfield, Mississippi. She is the youngest of 15 siblings. She graduated from Bassfield High School. She was a member of Bassfield Pentecostal Church where she was baptized in Jesus Name and filled with the Holy Ghost under the leadership of late Elder Sidney McLaurin and the late Suffragan Bishop Robert J. Deas. Evangelist Franklin attended Jackson County Community College, she is a retiree from International Paper Company in Moss Point, MS, and she received her Ministerial License from Aenon Bible College. She met and married the LOVE of her LIFE, the late Elder Thomas Lee Franklin. They have five (5) children: Andrea, Benadaryl, Derrick, Gilbretta and Donice and three (3) grandchildren.
Elder and Evangelist Franklin were members at Bethlehem Temple Apostolic Church under the late Bishop John Shaw for many years. Evangelist Franklin served as Minister of Music, Sunday School Superintendent, Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Department and Special Programs.
As the Lord considered the destiny of many Souls in Moss Point and the surrounding areas, he spoke to Elder Thomas Franklin about starting a church, New Bethel Apostolic Assembly. Evangelist Franklin filled a very real need and helped her husband in the work God had given to him. She helped to make him successful; successful in the work God had given to him, in the ministry before him and in the raising of their children. You have heard the term, “behind every successful man lies a woman.” Elder and Evangelist Franklin were a team who were yoked together to do God's work.
Evangelist Franklin continues God’s work in various positions of New Bethel Apostolic Assembly.
In her spare time, she enjoys traveling, reading and spending time with her family.
